“Who Is John Galt?”

(Hint: He’s not a Democrat.)

The only time in my life I engaged in graffiti…was to write those words. I’ll spare you (and myself) the details right now. But I’m thinkin’ them more and more these days. Right now I’m reading Time Bandit by the “Deadliest Catch” guys. Really good read. Written by and about people who know how to take care of themselves…who understand hard work and accept the risks they’ve chosen to take…who resent the interference of the nanny state. (And you thought it was just about crab fishing.)

This morning I was listening to the radio and I hear the audio from the interview below. Part of me can’t believe what I’m hearing…another part of me is screaming…”WHO IS JOHN GALT?” I guess as soon as I’m done with Time Bandit…going to have to read Atlas Shrugged again. Truth being stranger and much scarier than fiction.

Anyone know the way to Galt’s Gulch?

Love, Mom

  1. The way to Galt’s Gulch… paved with good intentions (and ignorance?). For a little lift, photos of Spain and Aruba, check out http://www.bentpage.wordpress.com.

  2. Of course, you could always *invade* Canada since Canada has all that oil….and we know that we are only in Iraq for oil….. okay okay, I know M*A! Listening to this woman makes about as much sense…;)

  3. Nationalizing industries I think is called Fascism- so I Googled it and saw this

“totalitarian philosophy of government that glorifies the state and nation and assigns to the state control over every aspect of national life. Unlike Communism, fascism abhors the idea of a classless society and sees desirable order only in a state in which each class has its distinct place and function. Representation by classes (i.e., capital, labor, farmers, and professionals) is substituted for representation by parties, and the corporative state is a part of fascist dogma.”

Imagine Life under the Nationalized Energy Independence Department (run by Obama’s Department of Peace btw…)
for individuals – a ration book for your gasoline, (rationing is delegated on family need) appointment times when you can fill your tank, a permit to own a car and what type of car you can drive. If you want to take a cross country trip, you will need to make sure that you have the approval of the petroleum committee in that area for the amount of gasoline you will be allowed to take from that area’s supply, along with the appointment time for a fill up. Monthly taxes for supporting this industry along with some money for the environment damage on top of the 40% tax per gallon.

    On the Federal Level-
An new US Amendment that gives the Federal Government power to Nationalize industries (I don’t think it has that power now under the Constitution). Business are held hostage on the same rationing system. The “who gives a damn attitude” prevails, because there is no incentive by the employer or individual to actually to achieve anything above average, because it won’t make a difference in the amount of profit you make or the carbon credit you get for the month. In fact a carbon credit allowance is given to your type of industry, in which you can trade or upgrade on the Government regulated market. (we can’t have price gouging, do we?). Not much investment in the US because it is so hard to do business, so it no worry about foreigners coming and taking over the markets here. (this will solve our illegal immigration policy btw) Bicycles manufacturers rule!

This is my response to the questions on the video, “What does the Federal Government does well? ” It takes your income and redistributes it. It also has now a pretty good track record on Social Security payments and Medicare payments. This is after decades of administration. Also our military runs great.

Sorry about the long comment, but I’m feeling really grouchy today! Enjoy your freedom, while you can, because I think that the majority of Americans want it this way. Being Independent is really…hard yah know, best let the Government take care of us.
