Reminder…The Eagle Walks…

for Ellicia…on the 3rd of May in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

I know, I posted this before…but the walk is drawing near. SC has raised $1,210.00 of the required $1,800 in donations. (A huge thank you to The Daughter, her BF Linda and her boss Janet.)

I was fortunate enough to “know” Ellicia for a short time. We never had the opportunity to meet in person, that had been planned, she died before we could make it happen.

We’ve all read the statistics…but those are just numbers. Behind each number is a person..a Mommy, Sister, Daughter, Friend. SC lost his wife and best friend, his children their mother. For a look into the life of what these families face on a daily basis there’s a blog, Punk Rock Mommy, pointed out to me by SC. It’s an all too familiar story to him.

If you can, please make a donation to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Who knows, one small donation may be the one that enables a researcher to do one more test…and that could be the one…

Love, Mom

  1. Breast cancer can strike young and old.

My dearest freind Pam, lost her daughter-Nicole who was 30. Nickky struggled with treatment for 2 years prior to death this year. She was married and had a children – a son who is 6 and step daughter who is five.

Such a bright light that was extinguished too soon.

  2. My condolences to your friend Debbie. That’s why whatever we do…no matter how small…is important.

  3. Debbie… My condolences to your friend and her family. I wish so many of us didn’t share this common bond.
